We have a big event coming up! But first, have you taken our quick survey?
MPAC SUMMIT (register here)
This Summit, a weekend of community action and professional development, will be held at Caritas Village Friday, April 5, through Sunday, April 7.
Participants will examine fundamental issues affecting the Memphis performing arts community, including how to create safer and more equitable spaces in our small companies, artist studios, and the city’s major institutions.
The Summit sessions will be led by Kaisha S. Johnson of Women of Color in the Arts, a national service organization dedicated to creating racial and cultural equity in the performing arts field. Johnson stated the intent of the Summit is to, “facilitate dialogue to open pathways in order to understand race and equity and their impact on organizational/institutional culture and structures. These dialogues aim to incite critical conversations from a racial justice framework, foster critical thinking grounded in contextualized history, create a vocabulary of shared language, and build community around shared values.” Tickets are free but registration is required.
All Summit events will be held at Caritas Village, 2509 Harvard Ave.
